All these images have previously appeared in various editions of Hawkfan and were to the best of my knowledge taken by either Brian Tawn or his wife Ann.

Okay, time for a little competition, who can tell me the names of the two folk above and how do they fit into hawkwind folklore, either of the images for the answer

It seems strange to me these days that Harvey's original involvement with the band was as bassist and not keyboards which I for one most commonly associate him with

Dave explains to Hawkfan's Brian Tawn about a radical new image that he's thinking about employing. Curious, Brian goes along with it, the results are below -

If it wasn't for the fact that this picture was taken back in 84, I would have been sure that Dave was once more trying to resurrect his film career that we exposed in our Hawkfilms exclusive, this time auditioning for the part of the Gimp in Quentin Tarrantino's "Pulp Fiction".

In all seriousness (that's if you can be serious when confronted with a picture like this!), quite what is going on here is anybody's guess. Unsurprisingly it was used in a caption contest with the somewhat (in my opinion) feeble winning effort being
YOU TELL 'EM IT'S OFF.(DAVE)                                        NO! YOU TELL 'EM IT'S OFF (BRIAN)
I'm sure museum visitors can come up with something better than that so why not
E-MAIL
your ideas!

Here's some from good friend and regular contributor to the museum Steve Starfarer

1. "This was the alternative album cover design for Choose Your Masques"
2. "After Robin Gibb's tragic death, Hawkwind decided to drop the Bee Gees
Tribute Medley from the set."
3. "Due to another of Harvey's backstage tantrums, Dave and Brian Tawn have
to break off the interview and flee in disguise."
4. "The Steve Swindells masks were not one of the more successful lines of
merchandise."

On a similar line to number 3 how about
"Dave and Brian were a bit dissapointed at how the Martin Griffin commemorative moustaches had turned out!."

And here's another

"Is this why that weasel Dave Anderson won't drive us to gigs in his flashy car?"

Okay, who remembers this old fella! He and a mate who looked very similar would sit in front of and guard Dave and Harvey's keyboards and synths from any unwanted predators. I believe they first saw action on the 84 earth Ritual tour but as with many Hawkwind props also saw further service over the years that followed.

One's to presume that Alan is just in awe of meeting his hero (this may well have been taken before Mr Davey joined), but I have to say 'm a little concerned by the way that he seems to be lovingly looking into the captains eyes
