You can understand that certain performers such as the dancers might need to wear a bit of make up to enhance their appearance, but the musicians, surely not, but lo and behold here we find former drummer Danny Thompson clearly wearing  a heavy layer of foundation,

Back in the late 80's when this shot was taken,the pair would perform comedy sketches rather than those synthy jamming pieces that you usually get at a Hawkwind gig, "highly successful" are not two words that you would associate with this idea and by the early 90's the noodling was back.

Dave Brock, who's just out of shot, successfully convinces Huw that his clenched fist is in fact the latest in mobile phone technology and as we see here the guitarist desperately tries to phone his good lady Marion to tell her that he'll be late for his tea.

As with most organisations their is a system of heirarchy within hawkwind. As "merely" the dancer, Tony Crerar listens intently as his bosses put in their orders for industrial sized Rizla papers before sending him off to the local convenience store. He was allegedly heard uttering something about "you bas****s could have told me before I put me stage clobber on!"

Having decided that night-club bouncer was not a job for Him, Mike Moorcock instead chose to audition for the Ladbroke Grove's Am Dram societies production of the Peter Grant story.
