Unfortunately the images below are a bit blurred, but I thought they were still worth the inclusion, they're press ads from the early 70's

I said they were a bit blurred and that certainly applies to the image on the left, what I think is interesting though is the amount of subtle differences that there are between the two when you have a closer inspection. A less serious web site than the Museum would almost be tempted with a "Spot the difference competition", but as I said that's for the more infantile out there (and I can't be bothered to organise it and don't have a prize!)

I've also worked out that the dates in question relate to the winter tour of 1973 - 74, further details can be accessed at Starfarer's site by clicking here for 1973 and here for 1974

On the left is another ad for the same set of dates, with yet another take on the basic design and this time overlaid on another background.
The image on the right is an interesting one. I always remember Iron maiden doing something very similar in the 80's when I followed them religiously, always assuming that it was their idea and what a nice touch it was to actually say "Thank you" to the fans, as lets be honest it's us poor souls who put these people where they are!. However it would seem from this clipping that it's yet another example of what a huge influence hawkwind have been on the music scene both past and present!

A more conventional ad from around the same era

92 tour postcard.gif (51917 bytes)

Kindly donated by Rob "Dreamworker" these are actually postcards that were printed to comemorate the events in question. The 1992 world tour is an interesting one as according to the gig list on my good friend's Starfarer's site they only played gigs in the UK, more specifically England (quite a few) Scotland (2) and Wales (1)!, well iI guess you'd consider it an extensive world tour as long as you lived in England as you'd have plenty of chances to catch them.
