More delights from that kind donation from Gavin Wilson. It seems ages ago that we met up and he handed this stuff over to me and whilst it's fair to say that this material has been the bread and butter of museum updates ever since but don't think it's coming to an end yet as there's plenty more where this came from!

Now it's no secret that spaceship Hawkwind is (allegedly!) is a well disciplined and highly efficient unit these days. With Kris at the helm she runs to tight ship. That's not to say that she doesn't reward good behaviour with some bonus shore leave. Just look at Richard, Ron and Alan (talking to Martin Griffin) enjoying a well earned breather back in 1996 at the Langtree festival. However have a look at the photo below to see what happens when a band member steps out of line, even the captains not exempt from her strict regime! |

Hawkwind can never be accused of not being public spirited.
Here we see Ron tree interrupt the bands performance as it seems some young child has lost
his parents and wandered onto the stage. After putting out a request for his mum or dad to
come forward he continued with the next song, however half way through he was heard to
mutter |

Three shots from the Blackheath gig of 1997, momentous for
at least a couple of occasion, firstly it was the first time Huw had appeared with the
band in some years, possibly since the Calvert charity show debacle back in 1988? and
secondly and arguably as important, this was the first Hawkwind gig that fellow web master
Steve Starfarer had attended in many a year. Just think if it hadn't been for this show he
may never have got back into them, something I'm sure his wife wished were true ;-) |

Now if possible study the pictures to the left and right
first. |

And finally, something completely different, here's a couple of Dave Brock's guitars, a pair of 1980's vintage Westone's is my uneducated guess! |

Actually there's more, a couple of late additions, thanks to Rich for these rarities, they are actually stills from a BBC program called Room 101 where "celebs" place their most hated things in said room. On this occasion it was actor Michael Gambon, one of his dislikes was the whole Ladbroke Grove hippie scene in the 60's, cue some archive footage and who should pop up looking (understandably) much younger but Dave Brock. Thank you Rich! |
