HAWKWIND INSPIRED RINGTONES

FOR NOKIA PHONES

If like me your not the greatest fan of mobile communications, or as I believe they are called in America "cell phones" them I'm sure that most of this "customising" of you phone leaves you cold. However here are a couple of additions that can be added at no cost, just a little bit of time.

Thanks on this occasion must go to my friend and work colleague Tony Fordham for working these out.

Because I'm not entirely sure on the copyright implications of this field I'd like to stress that I consider these to be Hawkwind inspired so I'm going to name then tone 1 and tone 2, that said you really sound try number 1 as it's a corker, almost an ASSAULT on your eardrums, that is, as long as your phone AND therefore your BATTERY don't run out before you've finished!, mind you as good as it is number 2 is also quite MAGNUficent

Below is a quick lesson in how to program your phone -

Click on the MENU button
Scroll through to TONES
Click on Select
Scroll down to Composer
Again scroll down page until you find an entry marked (empty) and click
Select

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
* + 0 _ ^ #
c d e
f g a
b --- +
123 ___ #

Above left is the basic keypad of your Nokia mobile, while the example on the right shows it's functions needed for programming your phone. So for example for an f note yours press the number 4 key.
The 8 key shortens notes whilst 9 lengthens and 0_ insets a rest.
* + Sets the octave, ^ # makes the note sharp (not available in e & b)
Finally the arrow keys < > located just above the 9 keys move the cursor in the appropriate direction and the C key deletes a note or rest to the left.

On completion of the tone press the options key, just below the screen   and choose what you would like to do next, it's pretty self explanatory.

So, as a quick example, say a ringtone starts  -
8g1 8#f1 8#f1 8#f1 8#f1

To program that we'd have to -
press the 5 key, this will display 4g1, now we need to shorten this so we press the 8 key and lo and behold 8g1 will now appear.
Now the next note is f, so click on the 4 key and this (should) display 8f1, all we need to do is sharpen this by clicking the ^ # key and hey presto you've got your second note, now simply continue to input the data and you shouldn't have any problems
The octave shouldn't need changing but if it does  then just click the  * + key.

One of the options is TEMPO and this is something you can experiment with at will, for both of these I'd suggest either 80 or 90 bpm but it's really just a personal thing.

Hope you have fun with these and it'd be great if they prove popular for more to be added so please feel free to e-mail any you may have, which you can do by

So without further ado

Tone 1 (note, there's no rests required and the gaps here just differentiate the notes)

8e1 8e1 8e1 8e1 8g1 16g1 8g1 8g1
8# f1 8# f1 8# f1 8# f1 8a1 8a1 8a1 8a1

Then basically just repeat this another 2 times

Tone 2 (note, - is a rest, length set by the same method  a changing musical note duration's)

8- 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 4d1 2c1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 4d1 2e1
8- 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 4d1 2c1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 4d1 2e1
8- 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 8- 8d1 4d1 4d1 2c1
