As I'm sure most of you are aware (well I bored most people rigid with this story when I met them at hawkfest as well as anyone else who came in ear shot of me) that my Hawkfest was somewhat different than most punters who attended, or put another way rather than enjoy the band that 99.9% of folks had paid good money to go and see (Hawkwind) I instead had to make a dash southwards on the Saturday morning to attend a friends wedding and in case you don't believe me here's the evidence, (also I can tell a lot of my non Hawkwind loving friends that there are some pictures of the wedding and that'll get some more visitors to the site!).

Incidentally whilst at said wedding I did ask the DJ if he had Silver Machine amongst his collection, to which he replied "No, but I worked with them down the Kursaal (the famous Southend venue that H\W were perennial visitors) in the 70's, those b**tards used to point strobes straight out into the audience at eye level", it's nice to know that some things never change

IfIf any further proof was needed about my whereabouts that Saturday night  then surely it's here as you can clearly see my Hawkfest wristband just below my watch strap. Also pictured are my wife Cheryl, daughter Megan and the Buster Bloodvessel look a like is my good mate Jeremy a man who like Starfarer's friend Ben could tell you all you need to now about Connex losing rail franchises

"I'm a love hunter baby yeah, yeah"
Ok so whilst some 800 of you were having a right royal space rock time with Dave and co I was still rocking it up!, seen here in a somewhat "well oiled" state doing my best (well worst) David Coverdale impression ably assisted by the Groom Jason and Jeremy (again), mind you he could just be telling Jason about more line closures and the retirement of more Diesel engines!

OK so you're timing left something to be desired but all the same it was a great day and something I wouldn't have missed for anything including Hawkwind headlining the Hawkfest. So can I just take a moment to once more congratulate the bride and groom Jason and Nichola and wish them all the best in the future, but whilst we're on the subject although most of my friends are now happily married in case you're thinking of renewing your vowels or having some other big bash I'd appreciate it if you could steer clear of August!
THANK YOU
